Possessed by Cigarettes is a series of humorous collage comics made with recycled fashion magazines. The protagonists are mostly women, but not exclusively. It's an underground series that explores the theme of addiction and how it manifests itself in contemporary society.

Mental health is often facilitated if you can afford it, and there is a whole delicate theory and practice around addiction. People can try to confront addiction, but few manage to do so on their own. In fact, support means a complex medical and psychological intervention plan, totally personalized.

Unfortunately, addiction is viewed by the human brain as a solution to pain, and society's reaction, with specific forms of exclusion and punishment, is not helpful.

In any contemporary world, mental health support is essential, but do we know how to implement it? Is it personalized and accessible to everyone?

This collage comic series is part of a project that seeks to confront addiction through art therapy. The format is dedicated to support group meetings and can also be included in occupational therapy modules. It's something I've studied, researched, and applied as a Psychopedagogue; therefore, those interested in the project should contact me. It would be fantastic to create collage groups with inspiring and inclusive premises that could be turned into books or animated films.

Art therapy activities or occupational activities are modalities of Psychopedagogy intervention and mental health support that are also used in suicide prevention strategies - not to be ignored.

Poseída por los Cigarillos es una serie de collages humorísticos hechos con revistas de moda recicladas. Las protagonistas son mayoritariamente mujeres, pero no exclusivamente. Es una serie de cómics underground que explora el tema de la adicción y cómo se manifiesta en la sociedad contemporánea.

La salud mental suele facilitarse si uno se la puede permitir, y existe toda una teoría y práctica complejas en torno a la adicción. Las personas pueden intentar afrontar la adicción, pero pocas lo consiguen por sí solas. De hecho, este tipo de apoyo es un plan completo de intervención médica, psicológica y social, totalmente personalizado.

Desafortunadamente, la adicción está evaluada por nuestro cerebro como una solución al dolor, y la reacción social, con sus formas específicas de exclusión y castigo, no es útil.

En cualquier mundo contemporáneo, el apoyo a la salud mental es esencial, pero ¿sabemos cómo implementarlo? ¿Es personalizado y accesible para todos?

Esta serie forma parte de un proyecto que busca confrontar la adicción mediante la arteterapia. El formato está dedicado a grupos y también puede incluirse en terapias ocupacionales o módulos de ergoterapia. Es algo que he estudiado y aplicado como psicopedagoga; por lo tanto, quienes estén interesados en el proyecto deberán contactarme. Sería fantástico crear grupos de collage-art con premisas inspiradoras e inclusivas que se conviertan en libros o películas de animación.

Actividades de arteterapia o actividades ocupacionales son modalidades de intervención psico-pedagógica y soporte mental que se utilizan también en la estrategia de prevención del suicidio, nada de ignorar.
