New year, fresh morning!

It was a long night
of fireworks,
food, drinks ,and shouts
of excitement.

– but now, the next morning –

You can only hear
the neighbors snoring
and my writing pace.

Finally, a dog barks,
then sudden silence.

Where are the birds?
I hear no chirping,
just ambulances and
a helicopter passing by.
